The LomLardy Bracket got off to an electrifying start last week in the KFC Bucket Region. This week we bring you the Pillsbury Region of round one. Voting closes on Monday so be sure to check back and vote each day for your winners. Next Tuesday will feature round one of the Hostess Region. You can find out more about the LomLardy and get the full and printable bracket HERE. Happy Voting!
(6) Tom Cable got his coaching career start as a D-line coach at Cal State Fullerton. The man has come a long way from being a replacement player for the 1987 Indianapolis Colts strike team and nobody coach in the California college scene. Cable was hired as the Oakland raiders head coach after Lame Kiffin was axed by Al Davis in 2008. Cable, who may be more well known for his alleged anger management issues than his coaching success faces a tough challenge in round one form a cross sport, Midwest rival. Black is a slimming color though, so he has that going for him.

(11) Lou Piniella is a lower seeded version of Bobby Cox in this tournament. He isn’t the largest man in the bracket by any means but the pounds packed on with late age make him a sneaky candidate for a LomLardy Cinderella. Like Cable, Piniella has a well known temper and isn’t exactly known for winning in the playoffs (sorry Cubbie fans). But from his humble beginnings as the manger of the New York Yankees in 1986, Lou has created a name for himself as one of MLBs most well known managers. His love for food is even evident in his investment portfolio, as he is a part owner of Minor League Baseball’s Montgomery Biscuits.
Anger/Weight Managment: Which Coach is Fatter?

(3) Andy Reid is the hope and despair of the Philadelphia Eagles. The “Enormous Mormon” as he is called by Giants fans, is 10-8 in the playoffs all time. Though that stat may be disturbing and disgruntling to many of the Philly proud, Reid has undoubtedly been the best coach in Eagles history and has contributed greatly to the economy through cheese steak purchases. Andy Reid’s wife, whom he met while at BYU, is a strong activist in the Philly community as well and no not nearly as large as he.

(14) Sylvester Croom is a true pioneer. Not only by becoming the first African American coach in the Southeastern Conference while at Mississippi State, but also by being the first coach to serve as running backs coach for 4 different NFC teams. Croom made national news in 2003 when he publicly stated race was the only reason he did not land the Alabama head coaching job. Now serving as the running backs coach for the St. Louis Rams, Croom joins fellow fat man Steve Loney in the Gateway City.
Mustache For Machos: Which Coach is More Rotund?
Total Voters: 133
(7) Wade Phillips, the jellyroll Texan, comes in as a rather strong 7 seed. Wade is the son of Bum Phillips and the well known head coach of the Dallas Cowboys. During his tenure with the Cowboys, Phillips has a .681 record, and won his first career playoff game in 2009 and the cowboys first since postseason victory since 1996. While maintaining his position in the national spotlight, Phillips has been able to make blog headlines by making a habit of stroking his neck fat [link] and resting his headset on his gut.

(10) Frank Beamer, head coach of the Virginia Tech University football program, is a Cinderella story waiting to happen. Beamer himself was saved from an exploding gas can as a child and left with permanent scarring, then Beamer was hired as the head coach at Virginia Tech from lowly Murray State, where he only advanced his team to the division II playoffs once. You can never count out this 10 seed. Beamer is resilient. He has been ever effective as of late in the weight gaining field, evident of [this photo] circa 2001 to the current photo.
Heavy Greys: Who is More Obese?
Total Voters: 142
(2) Tom Amstutz, represents another football coach searching for a job making the bracket this year. As where the Cleveland Browns dominated the KFC Bucket Region, the Unemployed list is having a strong showing in the Pillsbury Region. Amstutz was the head football coach for the Toldeo Rockets for 8 seasons from 2001-2008. Toldeo Tom compiled a strong 58-41 record during his tenure with notable wins against Michigan, Colorado, Pitt, and Minnesota.

(15) Mike Leach is a major surprise to make the LomLardy field of 32. After serving as the offensive coordinator at Kentucky and then as the OC under Bob Stoops at Oklahoma, Mike Leach took on the head coaching job at Texas Tech. Leach will forever be known for his love of pirates and off field antics, but this Vince Gill look-a-like may have more to offer this bracket than first noticed. Leach is not only a underarted offensive mind, but also a vastly overlooked fatty. Following the trend of getting heavier with years of age, Leach has certainly looked more robust in the past two seasons.

Tom Cable isn’t fat, man.
He is built like a fireplug, yes, but he isn’t a fatass.
[Reply]
Tom has tremendous girth but shouldn’t be called ‘fat’

Ha…my pancake pick for the Krispy Kreme Trophy is the Mangiinonator. Leach does not stand a chance. Hell his whole family and half the choir would fit in Mantinonator’s shadow.
[Reply]
Mangino has the largest margin of victory so far. Things are looking good for the #1 seed

Great stuff as usual…bring on the Hostess region.
